This is almost a necessity if you're new to Ham, and there are lots of good information here. I'd be a bit 'more fun, but not what is there. . . .

While I am in the middle of this book, I can attest that this is an excellent guide manual for a first amateur radio license exam time study.

Trying to upgrade my amateur license while working full time is difficult, I need a no-nonsense book. People really ARRL that right to the point, the questions of the test sample, all written in easy to read terms of profane language. I highly recommend this book.

I bought this book after legacy radio equipment from a relative. While I had some basic knowledge of radio amateurs, just sit next to someone who turned the dials. Now I'm studying for my license, it all seems a bit 'overwhelming. This book does what it claims to help you prepare for the test, but there are some points that are not covered. Okay, so I feel well prepared to meet the test next month, but I know I will keep learning more and more about ham radio for years and years. But is not that the point of ham, anyway?
